Clicking on an individual record brings up an instance record report for that instance type. Different templates may be designed for different instance types, such that a record dealing with a person could have a different presentation and style than, say, a record for a camera or book or city. The system automatically detects the instance type of each record and then presents its appropriate template.

When clicked, the instance record then displays. Here is an example for a project record from the Sweet Tools dataset covering semantic Web and -related tools:

Presentation of these various templates can be modified with respect to layout and styles.

Here are some notes and behaviors:

• Many of the attribute values presented in the template report are themselves linked data. Clicking on them allows you to explore further the current dataset or external data to which it is linked
• Some of those linked values (often labeled as Subject) perform a further search within the dataset
• Again, if you have the proper permissions, you may also see the Update [] or Delete [] icons, which allow you to perform those actions on that record
• Each record itself has a unique URI, which enables it, too, to participate as linked data. To see the machine-readable form of this record (in RDF), click on the linked data icon [] to the lower right of each instance record, as shown below.
